ServicesCase ManagementWe work with immigrants and families to provide assistance that keeps them on their feet. We assist more than 300 families each year with managing medical bills, handling crisis, and sorting through immigration difficulties since opening. In the last two years, we have partnered with the Salvation Army to sponsor events that helped more than 1,500 people receive passports and ID cards from the Mexican Embassy. All our clients’ cases, from the routine to the most challenging, are treated with the same dedication. EducationOur open Culture Competancy workshops connect immigrants with the native-born population and teach what the life of an immigrant is like here in the Shenandoah Valley. These workshops have drawn more than 500 people, and we have helped two other locations open offices that offer similar services We also offer leadership training courses that provide counseling and theological training in Spanish to members of Hispanic churches. Local NetworkingWe help local human service organizations with the cross- cultural aspects of the services they provide. We have recently been invited by the Harrisonburg City Council to help establish an Immigrant Advisory Group to help address concerns in the community. We are currently partnered with the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Intercultural Alliance, the Healthy Community Council, the Hispanic Services Council, Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and Success By 6. Our major funding partners can be found at the bottom of this page. |
